Costs & Fees

Once selected and nominated to our partner university, the following applies:

• Placement Fee: Pay a non-refundable fee of $150 per DBI/Short elective. 
• Tuition: You will remain enrolled at UNC Kenan-Flagler and continue paying regular UNC tuition.
• Program Fee: An administrative fee may be charged by the partner school, fees vary by program.
• Cost of living expenses: Airfare, accommodation, meals, etc. are the responsibility of the student.
• Program Fee with hotel: Some DBIs may have a set program fee that includes accommodations — details will be provided for each program.
• Health Insurance: All students are enrolled in GeoBlue Global Solutions Health Insurance at a rate of  ~$1.55 per day, billed via Connect Carolina.

Veterans Affairs (VA) Benefit Eligibility

• DBIs and Short Elective courses are eligible for VA certification or tuition coverage.
